Tammy Barr
A California native, former expat in Asia, and long time Seattle transplant, Tammy can find the joys of living just about anywhere. She loves sunshine and being on, in, or near the water! Sailing on HAL ships was an ideal job during her first career for that very reason! She got the opportunity to swim in the crystal clear waters near Bora Bora, frolic on beaches in the Caribbean, explore the waters of the Arctic Circle, and even visit Egypt! As you can tell, Tammy also loves travel. She has visited many countries around the world but one of her “happy places” is Spain. Good food, good wine, great value!
Before taking on fulltime travel, Tammy climbed the corporate ladder in various Human Resources roles. One day she will get back to partnering with business leaders to solve people problems. Until then, you will find her playing tennis, trying new wines, and exploring exotic beaches.
Corey Barr
Corey was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington. He was fortunate to extensively travel around North America during his life, including many fun road trips. But his demanding position in commercial property management limited his ability to visit international destinations.
Before the Barr travel sabbatical started in 2022, Corey had never left North America. He has now visited more than 30 countries. Some of his favorite places have been New Zealand, Bulgaria, and Thailand.
Corey enjoys locations with hiking trails, interesting beer taps, and delicious foods. He’s fond of the beach and now sports an envious bronzed look year-round.
Together, they are living their dream!
Tammy and Corey had no idea this adventure would be in store for them when they first met in 2015 at a cozy wine bar in Seattle. They met the old fashioned way: online!
During the Covid pandemic, Tammy and Corey revisited their life goals and decided to travel, while they still had good knees and the energy to walk a dozen miles around the city.
They downsized from an urban home to two large Osprey backpacks and a small storage unit. They certainly don’t travel light, but they are comfortable abroad.
Maintaining a travelogue is no easy feat. Tammy and Corey divide and conquer the various roles to balance full time travel and writing about it. Tammy is the photographer, chief writer, accommodation picker, and dreamer.
Corey contributes to the travelogue by maintaining the website and acting as chief editor. To sustain their lifestyle, Corey is also the money guy, the transportation expert, backup accommodation picker, and realist.
